FX Live was built on decades of experience in the snow and winter effects industry. Our team has spent years at the heart of some of the UK’s most spectacular winter installations – from Snow Business and beyond, and brought all of that knowledge together under one roof.

We work with retailers, event organisers, visitor attractions, and holiday destinations to create winter moments that genuinely surprise and delight. Whether it’s a subtle snow dress for a shop window or a full-scale falling snow spectacle for a live event, we bring the same care, creativity, and hands-on expertise to every project.

We’re a real team, not a call centre. When you get in touch, you’ll speak to someone who actually knows their stuff and genuinely wants to help make your project work.

No two projects are the same, so we never treat them that way. Every brief gets thought through properly, the right product, the right quantity, the right approach for your specific venue and audience.

We stay until it's right

Our team doesn’t drop off the equipment and disappear. We’re there on the day, hands-on, making sure everything looks and works exactly as planned and we tidy up so well you’d barely know we’d been.

We’re a tight-knit group who’ve known each other for years — many of us worked together long before FX Live existed. Hover over a photo to find out a bit more about each of us.

Joe founded FX Live in 2020 having been head of live events at Snow Business for 10 years. He previously worked in the music industry in the live show sector, so he knows his way around an event.

Andrew cares about the details… He likes to get things done right! He has established a smooth and orderly operation at FX Live. Previously working as International Distribution Network Manager at Snow Business means he has more than 20 years' experience in the winter effects industry. If he’s not working, you’ll probably find him on the golf course or the ski slopes.

Andrew Carruthers

James is a co-owner and Director of FX Live and has been working in finance since 2002. He brings extensive experience in financial management, business planning and operational support, having spent more than two decades helping businesses grow and succeed. Drawing on his background as the owner of an accountancy practice, James enjoys helping organisations make informed decisions and achieve their goals. Away from work, James enjoys travelling, exploring new places and has a keen interest in fashion and design.

Rachel, aka Rach has been creating magic in the snow-bizz industry since 2015. With a wealth of knowledge for providing snow and winter effects at events, Rach is happy to help and advise every step of the way. When she’s not in winter wonderland, she’s looking after the elves (her toddler and rescue dog).

Peggyanne better known as PA, has over a decade of experience keeping projects running smoothly behind the scenes. Before joining FX Live, she worked at Snow Business, so creating winter magic is nothing new. When she’s not coordinating projects, she’s off exploring in her camper van. She’s also the owner of Lili, our resident office dog – a fluffy white Bichon x Maltese and a natural-born “snow dog.”

Kieran is the head of Glice UK as well as handling Snow projects, so can deal with any enquiry you throw at him! With a background in Geography he is passionate about finding environmentally friendly and sustainable solutions to winter effects. Those times he isn't selling winter, he plays football for a local team.
